Our Campus Facilities
Our campus is spread over 22 acres of beautiful grounds overlooking the hilltops. The total constructed area of the A. Dr. Vimal College of Nursing, main building is around 1,30,000 Sq.ft. Our campus is designed to offer the best academic experience for all students at a well-laid campus with functional Wifi enabled buildings to accommodate well-ventilated classrooms and laboratories.
Accommodation at our Campus
The accommodation blocks are surrounded by large gardens with trees. Set in beautiful grounds overlooking the hilltops and bursting with tastefully nurtured vegetation with a back-to-Nature feel. Yet, it is only a few minutes ride from the bustling smart city.
Currently, new integrated Wifi enabled dormitories with air-conditioning facilities are being renovated.
Smart Classrooms
We got adequate, spacious and air conditioned smart classrooms with well equipped seating and electronic facilities. Classes are taken with Power Point Presentation. All the procedures are shown in videos prior to demonstration.
Nursing Laboratories
Our labs are prepared to reinforce the theoretical knowledge and to develop the practical skills. These labs are organized to learn basic and critical nursing care with the help of mannequins, simulators, models and modules etc. We train our students to achieve excellent nursing skills through “Hands on Training” under continuous supervision and guidance by expert teaching faculties.

Clinical Facilities
Our students are provided excellent practice at our own Hospital - St. Theresa Hospital (100 bedded) and at 2000 bedded Government Vellore Medical College and hospital(GVMCH). Our students are exposed to clinical handling practices for a wide spectrum of diseases, the experience gained through our faculty at the government hospital is unmatchable. The students also gain clinical experience from affiliated institutions which are specialized private hospitals providing clinical experience in specialty areas. The students gain clinical experience through block postings at various departments.
Community Health Training and Psychiatry Health Trainings
Our College offers field experience for the students in the community through postings at rural and urban areas of Vellore. Psychiatry trainings are provided in world renowned hospitals in Chennai / Bangalore handling 2000 in-patients, in 21 wards including ones for the de-addiction, ward for mentally ill prisoners, intensive psychiatric care ward, and geriatric ward. The Students trained on the methods to care for the patients who suffer from severe mental illness like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, alcohol and drug dependence, traumatic brain injury, etc.
Library Facilities
Our college has contemporary library with latest edition books and journals. It covers almost all kinds and types of books in the field of nursing. Separate sections for textbooks, Reference books, Journals and E-Library. E library can be accessed with latest configuration computers. Computers play an integral role in the studies at our campus. Through the excellent Learning Management Systems (LMS), students have updated course content always. Students can also access the LMS with their own laptops or tablets. CDs related to books, journals, various nursing procedures manuals are available in our library.
